This is a truly wonderful M1911 Campaign hat. The quality alone of this Stetson made hat should speak for itself. However, this hat offers more history than meets the eye. This piece offers a terrific story and research opportuniy. We were able to find some quick information through ancestry on Private 1st Class Oscar F. Boehner. Here is a quick bit of information! We hope the next owner completes to research his story! He was born on 6/12/1893 in Philadelphia, Pa. Inducted on 5/27/1918. “11 Bn 154 Dep Brig to–; Co H 315 Inf Disch.” His war time engagements are listed as-Meuse-Argonne, Troyon and Grand Montague. He is listed as being slightly wounded on 11/5/1918.Another document states that he was wounded by shrapnel. His overseas service is listed as being from 7/9/1918-5/30/1919. His Veterans Service Flies state that he was with the 315th Infantry in Sector 304 of the Meuse Argonne Offensive from September 13-25th. He was honorably discharged on June 9th of 1919. He died on 6/2/1966. He is buried at New Goshenhoppen UCC Cemetery, East Greenville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania USA.
