For sale is an original, thoroughly researched set of Soviet WW2 awards, featuring a mounted trio of medals with engraved serial numbers and the accompanying award booklet for Junior Sergeant Dimitri Ivanovich Nemerovskiy. This historically significant grouping includes:
1. Order of Glory 3rd Class – Serial Number 370946. This medal is awarded for valor on the battlefield and is engraved with the serial number on the reverse.
2. Medal for Courage – Serial Number 2483081. Recognized as one of the Soviet Union’s most esteemed awards for personal heroism, this medal is also engraved with a unique serial number on the reverse.

Junior Sergeant Dimitri Ivanovich Nemerovskiy was born in Kharkov, Ukraine, in 1911. After the pivotal Battle of Kursk in July 1943, he was drafted into the Red Army at the age of 38. Despite his relatively advanced age, Nemerovskiy served with distinction as a gunner in the 1000th Anti-Tank Artillery Regiment, 18th Tank Corps, 5th Guards Tank Army. He participated in numerous offensives that led to the liberation of Ukraine and was lightly wounded twice during the intense Dnieper-Carpathian Offensive.
Key Actions and Recognitions:
• Battle of Karcag, Hungary – October 1944: In the fierce battle at Karcag, Nemerovskiy and his gun crew destroyed two enemy carriages. For his exceptional bravery, he was awarded the Medal for Courage (serial number 2483081).
• Austrian Front – April 4th-25th, 1945: During the final push into Austria, Junior Sergeant Nemerovskiy demonstrated extraordinary valor. Between April 4th and April 25th, 1945, he and his anti-tank crew destroyed one heavy tank, three heavy machine guns, two vehicles, and up to 15 enemy soldiers near Fedlbach. Near St. Polten, under intense fire, he eliminated 40 German soldiers and officers. Near Rorjak, his crew destroyed three enemy positions, neutralizing another 15 soldiers. For these heroic actions, he was awarded the Order of Glory 3rd Class (serial number 370946).
