WW2 British MK III Turtle Helmet Shell

This original World War 2 British MK III “Turtle” helmet shell is in relic condition, featuring a rusted surface indicative of its age and exposure. The helmet shows a hole at the top, adding character and suggesting potential battlefield use or damage. The MK III helmet was introduced in late 1943 to replace the MK II, offering improved protection to the sides and back of the head.

The shell retains its original structural integrity despite the rust and wear. There is no remaining paint on the surface, further emphasizing its relic state. The chinstrap bale attachments remain intact, although the liner and chinstrap are missing.

The MK III helmet, often associated with British and Commonwealth forces during the later years of the war, was widely used during the Normandy invasion and subsequent campaigns in Western Europe.
