There is no visible laundry number or name, but the garment remains in excellent condition overall, showing sharp tailoring and period wear consistent with wartime use. Activated in January 1940, VI Corps played a critical role in multiple campaigns throughout World War II. After initial garrison duties in the continental United States, VI Corps was deployed to North Africa in early 1943 and later spearheaded the Allied landings at Salerno, Italy, in September of that year as part of Operation Avalanche.
