WW2 German Kriegsmarine Tellermutze with Named Interior – A. Droschinski

This is an original WW2 German Kriegsmarine Tellermutze, also known as the “flat top” sailor’s cap. These caps were standard issue for enlisted sailors in the German Navy (Kriegsmarine) and are an iconic part of their uniform. This particular example features a beautifully intact dark blue wool body with the traditional black silk tally inscribed “Kriegsmarine” in gold embroidery. The tally retains its original sheen, though some wear from age is evident, consistent with service use.

The eagle and cockade insignia are firmly attached, displaying the striking craftsmanship characteristic of wartime production. The interior showcases a net lining for ventilation, which is mostly intact, with some wear from use. What makes this piece exceptionally rare is the presence of a name label sewn inside: “A. Droschinski,” offering a personal connection to its original owner. Such named items are highly sought after by collectors as they offer a tangible link to history.

The cap’s ribbons are present and show light wear, adding to the authenticity and charm of this artifact. Overall, the Tellermutze is in excellent condition for its age, showing signs of honorable wear, and would make a fine addition to any military collection.

This Kriegsmarine Tellermutze is a must-have for enthusiasts and collectors of naval militaria and WW2 German artifacts. Its named provenance and well-preserved condition make it a standout piece.
