DESCRIPTION:
This is a genuine Smith & Wesson Model 1, Second Issue revolver, manufactured between 1860-1868, making it an antique firearm under U.S. federal law and exempt from modern firearm regulations.
Features:
- Manufacturer Marks: The barrel is stamped:
“Smith & Wesson Springfield, Mass. PAT. APR. 3, 1855. JULY 5, 1859. DEC. 18, 1860.” - Condition: Mechanically excellent. The cylinder rotates smoothly, the hammer locks securely, and the trigger functions flawlessly.
- Grips: The grips have been replaced but fit securely, retaining the revolver’s aesthetic appeal.
- Design: Features a hinged frame, spur trigger, and the classic bird’s-head grip style associated with the Second Issue Model 1.
Historical Significance:
