WW1 US Army Captain’s Officers Jacket – Named to F.E. Ellison with Reapplied Original Insignia

This is a stunning example of a WW1 US Army officer’s jacket, tailored by Webster Tallant of Minneapolis and named to “F.E. Ellison.” The jacket is a classic olive drab with a stand-up collar and features four exterior pockets. The tailor’s label is intact and dated “1-14-17,” making it an exceptional piece of WW1 militaria. The name “F.E. Ellison” is also stenciled on the interior lining for additional provenance.

The jacket comes with original officer’s insignia, including two “U.S.” collar devices and a pair of silver captain’s bars. These insignia were discovered loose in the pocket and have been carefully reapplied to their correct positions on the jacket. The insignia is of high quality, retaining much of its original luster and detail, making this a visually striking piece.
