Civil War Era US Musicians Jacket.
These type of jackets date from the 1850’s-1880’s the were used by civil musicians, militia and zouave during the civil war period. There is no true way to pinpoint what the history of this particular uniforms was. However, there is a nearly identical uniform in the Wisconsin state capitol that was used by a zouave unit. This uniform shows age, however is still very steady and intact.. Perfect for a display on a mannequin or in a shadow box. I highly recommend this piece to any one with a civil collection who does not want to spend 5 figures plus on a civil war uniform.
